Flatland : Understanding Reality

In this interconnected world, inspiration for better life can and should come from unexpected places.
We all have been in situations where we are not well treated according to our potential. Things go worse when we did not get any chance to prove our worth any time soon. And then we wait for an opportunity to knock on our doors.
But wait, is it the only solution available?

Let's have a thought process. What if there is an urge to see the whole world in the color blue? What would you do? Paint the whole world blue? Or simply wear blue colored monochrome glasses? Which one is more practical?
What I want to convey through this thought process is the fact that change is necessary in our lives but it's more practical to change ourselves rather than expecting the whole world to change.

So what should we do about this condition? The answer is... Nothing. This problem requires no action but a right attitude

The thought of not being treated well holds no physical significance, It's all in the mind, if you think about it.  All you need is the right attitude to fix it.
What kind of attitude? This is where the 'FLATLAND' comes in.

FLATLAND

Flatland is a story made so that people can understand the difference between 'dimensions'. As I have said, inspiration can come from anywhere.
We live in a 3-Dimensional (3-D) world, meaning that here, object have length, breadth and height as dimensions. We perceive these dimension to analyse how long, thick and tall an object is. More generally how 'Big' an object is.

But let's suppose a 2-Demsional (2-D) world where length and breadth exists but height does not. The concept of height never existed in this world, means they can see how wide and long an object it, but they cannot perceive height. Most importantly, they are not bothered about it. Because they are unknown to the concept of height.

One fine day, our beloved sphere from 3-D world got a way to visit the 2-D world. As soon as he landed on the Flatland, he expected people to get amazed by his majestic size and brand new dimension, but in reality, people of Flatland were only able to perceive Mr. Sphere as a 'dot' (because when a sphere touches a flat surface only one point is in the contact) and anyone barely paid attention to him.

The story continues but we wil not go into the depths.

CONCLUSION

What do we learn from here? We learn the solution of our problem and another important lesson.
You are Mr. Sphere, and the place where no one gave any attention to you is 'flatland'. But the reality isn't that you are small, reality is that people of flatland cannot perceive your extra dimension. It's not their fault neither it's of yours.
All we should care about the reality. In reality Mr. Sphere is big and that's all what he should care about. Sometimes people are not able to percieve your dimensions and they may under rate you but that should never be your problem, because you know the reality and you know your self confidence is real.

The concept of Flatland is not only for making yourself feel better. It also asks us not to judge anyone by what you perceive. Maybe this time, you are the native of flatland and someone else is 'Mr. Sphere'
